Shiitake Mushroom Logs
Jenkins Arboretum & Gardens

Tickets: $25 members/$30 non-members
Learn how to grow your own shitake mushrooms. Each registrant will be able to take home one four-foot oak log which will be prepared at the workshop and inoculated with fungal spores. Each log should produce luscious shiitake mushrooms several times a year for two to three years or until the log has decomposed. Instructor Doug Blank will lead the workshop along with Arboretum Director Harold Sweetman, who will assist with biological science discussion.
