Camden Children's Garden Train Festival
Camden Children's Garden (November 15, 2006)
Camden Children's Garden Train Festival (Camden, NJ) November 3, 2006 – Come outside and play… for the Holidays at the Camden Children’s Garden. Start the holiday season at the Camden Children’s Garden Train Festival on November 11th. This event salutes the nostalgic favorite – trains, with a family friendly celebration that spotlights the Camden Children’s Garden G-scale model train garden and Arrow River Express Train Ride. This festival includes holiday and train themed crafts and educational projects, games and prizes, a storybook reading of The Polar Express and great special guests. Special guests include Folk Singer Mike Miller at 2:00 p.m., Thomas the Train displays and giveaways from Bachmann Trains and Columbus Trains, an NJ Transit information table, and NJ Live Steamers train display. Visitors can also meet Carlos the Conductor and Mum Bear, the Garden’s mascot. In 2000, the Camden City Garden Club presented an exhibit entitled “Garden Railroading, On Track for the New Millennium” at the Philadelphia Flower Show. This exhibit returned to the Children’s Garden as its G-scale model train exhibit. The Arrow River Train Ride surrounds this exhibit. The 1/3-scale train fits children and adults and offers a unique view of the features inside the Railroad Garden. Each day many children enjoy a ride on the Arrow River Train Ride as it makes two 600-foot loops around the Railroad Garden.
